CAMBRIDGE, MA– IIT Association of Greater New England, which was previously known as IIT SINE, is organizing a panel discussion on Entrepreneurship and Opportunities in Healthcare and Life Sciences on Saturday, Nov. 14, in Cambridge. The event is also aimed at welcoming new students in town.
The panel discussion and the welcome to new students will held at 2:00 pm-4:00 PM on November 14 at Kirsch Auditorium, Ray and Maria Stata Center, located at 32 Vassar Street in Cambridge, MA.
All Indian graduate and undergraduate students in the Boston area are invited to the event where they will learn about career and entrepreneurship opportunities from successful entrepreneurs working in the healthcare and life sciences area in the exciting Boston startup ecosystem.

Parag Mehta, CEO, Aveta Biomics
Dr. Parag Mehta is the CEO of Aveta Biomics, a life sciences company founded by a team of physicians and scientists, which was born out of a desire to develop effective solutions based on the principles of integrative medicine. He is a successful business executive and entrepeneur with over 20 years of experience in science, technology and life sciences.
PJ Anand, Founder and CEO, Alcyone Lifesciences
PJ Anand is the founder of Alcyone Lifesciences, which was started in 2010 to address the large unmet need in treatment of difficult neuropathological conditions. PJ’s career in the life sciences and pharmaceutical industry includes 18 years of experience in operational, business and corporate development roles.
Purnanand Sarma, President & CEO, Taris Biomedical
Dr. Purnand Sarma is President & CEO of Taris Biomedical, a specialty pharmaceutical Company, focused on treating genito-urinary diseases using drug-device convergence. He recently sold his company’s lead program LiRIS for the treatment of Interstitial Cystitis to Allergan. He has more than 15 years of pharmaceutical experience and has been involved in all aspects of the drug delivery business.
Dr.Niven R. Narain is Co-Founder, President & CTO of Berg, a Boston-based biopharma company housing fully integrated discovery, clinical, analytics, and diagnostics divisions. He is inventor of the Interrogative Biology™ drug discovery platform that has produced and guided clinical development of lead molecules in cancer and diabetes by combining elements of biological models, Big Data analytics, artificial intelligence, genomics, proteomics, lipidomics, and metabolomics.
