ANDOVER, MA–November 15 was a special day at Chinmaya Mission Boston. Bala Vihar children lined up on either side of the walkway, offering rose petals, teachers dressed in the traditional Kerala saris performing the aarti, all of these made one feel that it was Pujya Gurudev himself arriving at the center.
He did: in the form of Chinmaya Jyothi that had made its way through many centers in the Northeast including New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and then to Boston before moving on to Ottawa, Canada.
The Boston center was festive with hundreds of parents and students singing Guru Paduka stotram as the palanquin carrying a decorated Chinmaya Jyothi majestically strode into the center on the able shoulders of Chinmaya Yuvas. The whole hall resounded with the chanting of Om Sri Chinmaya Sadgurave Namah .
After offering the seat for the Jyothi ,which will remain here for a few weeks, the adults and parents participated in Guru Paduka pooja and were reminded that the Jyothi symbolizes to all that the light of knowledge that Pujya Gurudev has lit in our hearts should continue to burn steady and bright.
